Hubbard made the announcement on social media, saying his dream is to ultimately be a professional but he plans to “make the best decision for my family.”

The 5-foot-11 sophomore from Madison averaged a team-high 18.9 points to go along with 3.1 assists this season, helping the Bulldogs to a third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
Although Mississippi State fell in the tournament’s opening round to Baylor, Hubbard had a successful year two in Starkville and was named to the All-SEC second team. He also secured his second Howell Trophy, presented annually to the top men’s college basketball player in Mississippi, after winning it as a freshman in 2023-24.
Hubbard’s decision to retain his eligibility leaves the door open for a return to Starkville. He will be allowed to participate in the draft process, including the NBA Combine and workouts, and have the option to come back to the college ranks if undrafted.
The 2025 NBA Draft will take place June 25-26 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., but beforehand, the combine will take place May 11-18 in Chicago.
