STARKVILLE, Miss. – Despite lightning delay, Mississippi State defeated South Carolina 27-14 in Starkville Saturday.
State led 24-0 in the first half. The Gamecocks didn’t score until the end of the third quarter.
Starting his second game of the season, Fitzgerald performed the rushing game of any quarterback in MSU history, for 195 yards. Fitzgerald passed for 178 yards and two touchdowns.
Mississippi State takes on LSU next Saturday at 6 p.m. in Tiger Stadium on ESPN2.
