According to Carnival Warehouse, the carnival and fair industry’s top source for news and resources, Mississippi has one of the Top 50 Fairs in North America.
The 2021 list, which is based on attendance, ranked the Mississippi State Fair at #15. This year’s total attendance was 600,000.
“The Mississippi State Fairgrounds is proud to be recognized as the #15 Top Fair in North America,” Michael Lasseter, director of the Mississippi State Fairgrounds, said. “Because of the safety protocols we already had in place from the previous fair held in 2020, our staff had a head start on planning for this year’s fair. That, along with our new, diverse attractions and beautiful weather, helped to exceed our expectations in attendance. We look forward to continuing this beloved tradition in our state for years to come.”
Even though the Mississippi State Fair has come and gone this year, there’s always next year to check out the annual 12-day event.
