Summer has always been when Mississippi State has done the bulk of its recruiting, and now just days after the Top Dawg Camp, Joe Moorhead added two more prospects to his Class of 2020. The first to announce was Holmes County CC receiver Caleb Ducking.
Ducking attended last week’s camp and reportedly wowed the Bulldog coaching staff with a good 40 time to go with his 6’5″ frame. With receiver being such a position of need for MSU, it’s no surprise to see Moorhead and staff looking at the JUCO ranks to find some playmakers. Ducking joins two other JUCO receivers in the class, Johnquarise Patterson of Jones County JC, and Shaquon Anderson-Butts of Iowa Western CC. The Bulldogs are also expected to get a commitment from Co-Lin star Malik Heath, who was the state’s top rated player in 2017 before going the community college route.
The evening would bring one more commitment to Mississippi State, this time in three star linebacker Jakivuan Brown of Horn Lake, MS. Brown chose MSU over offers from LSU, Ole Miss, and Auburn among others.

Brown becomes the 17th commit for MSU in the 2020 cycle, with MSU expected to sign between 21-23 players overall.
