The Mississippi State football team will be sporting new jerseys this fall when the season kicks off on Sept. 2.
Recently unveiled by the university, the biggest change is the program’s decision to move to the script “State” logo on their primary helmets – a longtime request from fans. The team will also be stepping away from shoulder numbers.
Zac Selmon, Mississippi State’s director of athletics, said on SportsTalk Mississippi that the feedback on the jerseys has been “really positive” so far.
“It’s been really positive. Most importantly, as we talk to Nashville, you want to make decisions for our current student-athletes, our recruits, all and of our stakeholders,” Selmon said. “The reaction has been really positive. We’re going to continue to see what we can do in the future but really pleased with the reactions so far.”
