COLUMBUS, Miss. — The Mississippi School for Math and Science (MSMS) has been named one of the best schools in America for the third year in a row by Newsweek and the Daily Beast. They looked at 5,500 schools different schools and ranked MSMS as number 57. That is nearly a 300 point jump from last year.
The school was also named as one of the top 25 high schools in the South.
MSMS is a residential public high school in Columbus for the state’s most academically talented students. Students have to apply to get in during their sophomore year of high school.
