The Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science in Columbus is the number one high school in the state, according to rankings from US News and World Report.
The publication ranks schools based on factors like college readiness, state assessment proficiency and performance, and graduation rates. Lewisburg High in Olive Branch came in at number two, and Petal High School was ranked third.
U.S. News ranked about 18,000 out of nearly 24,000 reviewed public high schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
