According to the National Weather Service, the Mississippi River will be cresting again soon. The NWS is currently predicting that it will crest within the next two weeks.
Upriver of Reserve, crests are expected to be roughly two feet lower than the March crest. At Reserve and New Orleans crests are predicted to be similar to the crests that happened in March.
With persistent flooding in the state and continued rainfall, high water is expected to continue through the month of May.
