JACKSON, Miss. — Mississippi Power is now under new leadership. Ed Day, the President and CEO, has retired and has been replaced by G. Edison “Ed” Holland, who was Southern Co.’s Chief Lawyer.
Day was the CEO during a time when the Kemper County Coal Plant caused a good bit of controversy in the state. During that time he insisted using what some, like the Sierra Club, called untested technology. Their use was justified and so were the rate increases that came with building the multi-billion dollar plant.
