JACKSON, Miss.–At least six are dead and perhaps a hundred or more hurt after large tornadoes swept through areas south of Dallas Wednesday night. But, Mississippi will likely be spared even though frontal systems usually move from there to here.
Meteorologist Chad Entremont, with the National Weather Service, said storms of that caliber were not anticipated for Thursday or Friday, but you’re not completely off the hook.
Thursday there could be some pop-up showers or storms across the state. But, Friday, especially in the Delta and north half of the state, there could be a few strong to severe storms.
Entremont said, though, that the strongest of the storms may produce only hail and gusty winds.
