CAR CHASE
If you were in Meridian Saturday night and saw a whole bunch of blue lights on Hwy. 19 and 45, well, there was a high-speed chase going on. The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Dept. involved in that one and they told WTOK that they got their guy. They were expected to talk more about it today.
DROWNING
This may be a good reason to go ahead and get your child swimming and water safety lessons. A drowning at an apartment complex in Pascagouls. It happened Sunday about 7:30 and a 7-year-old child is dead. He was taken to Singing River Hospital, but it was too late.
VICKSBURG SHOOTOUT
Three guns, two cars and plenty of bullet holes. It was shootout Friday in Vicksburg, but everybody had bad aim, apparently. Nobody got hurt. Ambus Wallace, Ellis Wilson, Justin Williams Jimmy Hill all being charged.
NO SEATBELT DEATH
It’s a good reason to wear your seatbelt. Jones County. Derreck Jones dead after a wreck on Hwy. 84 Sunday morning. MHP says he hit a tree and was thrown out. He was not wearing his seat belt.
FUNERAL WEEKEND
It was a weekend of funerals after last week’s tornadoes. The family who died in Louisville was buried together, and that included 8-year-old Tyler Tucker, Sean Fowler, and Terri Tucker.
CYCLIST HURT
Even if you don’t like it, you have to watch out for cyclists on bicycles on the road. Now a man from Louin is accused in a bicycle hit and run Saturday night in Lamar County. A 30-year-old woman on a bike was the victim, reports WDAM. She’s at the hospital and he’s being tested for alcohol.
