Jackson, Mississippi– Whether you see New Year’s Eve as welcoming a new year or bidding good riddance to 2014, here are some events you don’t want to miss.
The first stop is at Bay St. Louis on the Mississippi Blues Trail at 100 Men Hall. New Orleans blues legend Little Freddie King will be ringing in the new year starting at 9pm. Tickets are $50 a piece at the door, and they’ll have hors d’oeuvres and champagne throughout the evening. Contact 100 Men Hall for more information.
Then it’s up to the Thirsty Hippo in Hattiesburg for New Year’s Eve with Soup Kitchen and Stellatone. Soup Kitchen is for all the hip-hop fans, while Stellatone appeals to the rock tastes. The Thirsty Hippo will also have a complimentary toast at midnight to ring in the new year. That show kicks off at 9:30pm in the back room of the Thirsty Hippo, so getting there early is a good idea. For more family-oriented fun, it’s the Embracing a BOLD New Year event at Fondren Hall in Jackson starting at 8:30pm. Headlining the event is gospel rap artist Uncle Reece.
