JACKSON, Miss. – Mississippi natives join the NBA.
Isaiah Canaan was picked in the second round of the NBA draft Thursday night by the Houston Rockets as pick number 34. Canaan, the six-foot tall point guard, was a four-year starter at Murray State. Before that he lead the Biloxi High School Indians to the 5A state championship in 2009.
Romero Osby played his last two seasons at Oklahoma after transferring from Mississippi State. The Orlando Magic drafted him as pick number 51. His hometown is Meridian and he played ball at Northeast Lauderdale High School.
