Mississippi’s newest professional baseball team has released its schedule for the inaugural 2025 season.
The Mississippi Mud Monsters will open play against the Florence Y’alls at Trustmark Park in Pearl on Thursday, May 8. The series will carry through the weekend and lead into a 96-game season that includes 48 home games over nine homestands.
“We are beyond excited to announce our 2025 season schedule,” Mud Monsters Assistant General Manager David Kerr said. “We are looking forward to making a ‘splash’ as we continue building an organization that fans, partners, and the Central Mississippi community can embrace and enjoy.”
As part of the Frontier League – an MLB partner league – the Mud Monsters will play in the west division of the Midwest Conference. Conference opponents will include the Gateway Grizzlies, Joliet Slammers, Schaumburg Boomers, and the Windy City Thunderbolts.
Other teams the Mud Monsters will take on in 2025 include the Down East Wood Ducks, Washington Wild Things, Evansville Otters, and Lake Erie Crushers.
The Mud Monsters will vie for one of eight playoff spots, with one spot going to each of the Frontier League’s four division winners with two additional wild cards per conference. Teams will play a best-of-three divisional series for the right to play in a best-of-five conference championship series. Teams who win their conference championship will face off in the best-of-five Frontier League Championship Series.
