A Monroe County man was sentenced to 15 years behind bars after pleading guilty to holding a woman against her will in his home.

In August of 2022, a woman called 911 asking for help near Parham Store Road in Monroe County. Gregory Allen Coker was in the residence with the woman, but did not answer when deputies attempted to serve a search warrant the next day.

A SWAT team and additional officers later forced their way into Coker’s home before he surrendered.

Coker was sentenced to 30 years in prison with 15 to serve for kidnapping and malicious mischief charges. He will also serve five years of probation upon his release.
