A Mississippi man in the Golden Triangle accused of murder has been locked up once again — this time for stabbing his mother.
West Point Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott released that Edward Bush, Jr., on Tuesday stabbed his mother, who was not identified by police, on Simmons Rd., as reported by WTVA.
Bush proceeded to lead deputies on a chase along Highway 50 West. The use of a barricade allowed deputies to capture the suspect and place him under arrest.
At the time of his apprehension, Bush was out on bond for murdering Demontra Ewing in Leflore County in 2022. When the suspect was wanted for murder, he had reportedly fled to Alabama where he is said to have stolen a vehicle before being captured by law enforcement.
In addition, Bush had also previously been charged with aggravated assault after allegedly shooting his brother.
Bond is expected to be denied for Bush. He will remain locked up until his trial date, which has not yet been set.
