JACKSON, Miss. – Interest rates will remain low and some Mississippi experts are sharing their opinion on the matter.
Earlier this week, the federal reserve chose not to increase short term interest rates.
Rates have been close to zero ever since the recession hit in 2008. Many financial excerpts site economic woes in Asian markets, specifically China, as the reason the fed chose not to increase rates.
Jim Leggett is an economics professor at Bellhaven and Matt Steffy is a law professor at Mississippi College, they think a rise on interest rates wouldn’t have been a bad idea.
