The Mississippi House of Representatives started the 2023 legislative session strong after passing a House Resolution commending Chapel Hart for its success over the past year.
The Poplarville-based band was featured as a top five finalist on America’s Got Talent in mid-September after receiving the Golden Buzzer from the judges during their first audition. Although the country music trio fell just shy of winning the $1 million grand prize and a show in Las Vegas, the three singers’ fame has skyrocketed across the nation and state.
Now, House legislators have approved HR 2, which “commends and congratulated Chapel Hart upon their success on America’s Got Talent and throughout their career, and extends best wishes for continued success in all their future endeavors.”
Today, the House honored Poplarville natives @ChapelHartBand with House Resolution 2. The HR commends them on their massive success as positive representatives of Mississippi. Thank you for joining us! #msleg pic.twitter.com/ixN2s5zOn4

On Wednesday, author Jansen Owen presented an official document of the resolution to the band’s members — sisters, Danica and Devynn Hart, and their cousin, Trea Swindle.
