Vaught Hemingway Stadium in Oxford played host to the High School Football State Championship games over the weekend, and the winners have claimed their prize…a state title for their schools.
Pearl completed their perfect season by taking down Starkville in the 6A State Championship by the final score of 21-17.
In 5A, West Point claimed the crown by beating Hattiesburg 41-15. With the win, West Point also finishes the season with an unblemished record.
In 4A, Noxubee County beat East Central 41-35 to take the title.
In 3A, Jefferson Davis County held Yazoo County to just 7 points in their 36-7 victory.
In 2A, Taylorsville took down Winona 41-26.
In 1A, Simmons finished 15-0 by beating Nanih Waiya in a close game that ended with a 22-20 final score.
