A Mississippi couple will spend time locked up following an investigation into a drug distribution operation in Lauderdale County.
Multiple agencies executed three separate search warrants in east Mississippi which led to the arrest of 39-year-old Richard Lee Harris and his significant other, 35-year-old Brittany Broach.
Harris and Broach were taken into custody by authorities at the male subject’s home after one of the three warrants was executed.
At Harris’ residence, agents located and seized approximately:
- 22 dosage units of Xanax
- 22 dosage units of hydrocodone
- 28 dosage units of oxycodone
- Two dosage units of Adderall
- Three firearms
- Various items of drug paraphernalia
“The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics will continue to focus on major drug trafficking organizations that feel their operations are undetected. We are committed to ridding our communities of the drugs perpetrated by these types of individuals,” Mississippi Department of Public Safety Commissioner Sean Tindell said.
“I commend the work our agents are doing in the field, and I especially thank our other law enforcement partners on the federal and local levels whose partnerships and commitment to the fight against drugs are unwavering.”
Law enforcement executed the other warrants at two additional locations in which Harris would conceal his drugs to hide them from police. As a result of these two warrants, agents located and seized:
- Three additional firearms
- 6.75 pounds of methamphetamine
- 2.5 pounds of cocaine
- 13 pounds of marijuana
- Various items of drug paraphernalia
Harris has been charged with four counts of aggravated trafficking of methamphetamine, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, felon in possession of a firearm, and aggravated trafficking of cocaine.
