Several Mississippi colleges will get you more bang for your buck according to the U.S. News and World Report.
Mississippi College was tied at 31st in the South Regional category for colleges with the best value. Founded in 1826, the college touts a tuition of $16, 740 with multiple scholarship opportunities to knock down the price on the student’s end. Endowments in 2015 amounted to $72,466,782.
William Carey University tied for the 41st spot on the list, boasting a tuition of $11,700. With an enrollment of only 2,487 undergrads, the university was acknowledged for its intimate atmosphere– 70 percent of WCU’s classes have less than 20 students.
The Mississippi University for Women in Columbus tied for 43rd on the ranking. Founded as a public university in 1884, tuition is $16,634 for out-of-state students, but only $6,065 for in-state students. There are roughly 2,800 students enrolled.
Belhaven University tied at number 52 on the list. Belhaven University is a private institution that was founded in 1883, has a total undergraduate enrollment of 2,751, and the campus size is 42 acres. Its tuition and fees are $23,016 per year.
Alcorn State University Alcorn State University is a public institution that was founded in 1871. The total enrollment is currently 2,911. One perk to this university: in-state tuition and out-of-state are the same at $6,552.
Mississippi Valley State and Delta State University were on the list but were not ranked. Their tuitions are $5,936 and $6,112, respectively.
