A student at Mississippi College is behind bars for allegedly levying an online bomb threat at the university.
Officials report that the unidentified student took to social media to announce the threat, prompting Mississippi College’s public safety office to be alerted. The Clinton Police Department was notified of the post and police were able to trace the threat to the student.
Police took the student into custody on Monday and the individual has been administratively removed from the university. The threat is not believed to be credible and authorities have reiterated that students and staff at the school are not in imminent danger.
