One Mississippi museum has been nominated for USA Today’s 2024 Reader’s Choice Travel Awards “Best Children’s Museum” category, with the location currently being ranked third in the nation.
Known for its dynamic hands-on exhibits and learning programs, Mississippi Children’s Museum in Jackson has been selected as a finalist for yet another award after being open for over a decade.
The children’s museum has received several national accolades over the last few years, including a medal from the Institute of Museum and Library Services in 2021 and the fourth-place position in USA Today’s Travel Awards last year.
Now, Mississippi Children’s Museum has been nominated for another award as it continues to serve kids and their families throughout the state, with the location rising to secure the third-place slot out of 20 total museums nationwide.
According to the nomination, the museum “places an emphasis on areas of literacy, health and nutrition, cultural arts, STEAM, and Mississippi heritage with its eight galleries and seasonal exhibits.”
Those wishing to support the children’s museum throughout the competition will be allowed to cast their vote every day until February 12.
