On Friday, the Magnolia Bluffs Casino in Natchez closed down with security blocking the road leading to the gambling house. Three days later, an apparent widespread technical issue is still preventing the facility from reopening.
A report from the Natchez Democrat noted the closing of Magnolia Bluffs was part of a larger computer system problem for Saratoga Holdings, the parent company of the casino, that led to all of its properties shuttering until the issue was resolved.
“Magnolia Bluffs Casino is currently experiencing IT issues,” Amy Brannigan, director of marketing for Saratoga Casino Holdings, said in a Friday media release. “We are working diligently to resolve the problem. We will reopen as soon as possible.”
Though the company has never publicly identified an issue other than technical, some social media users claimed that the closure seemed “fishy” when commenting on the casino’s announcement posts on social media.
Brannigan also confirmed that the technical issue has affected Saratoga’s casinos in New York state and Colorado.
“All properties were impacted in some way,” Brannigan continued. “Unfortunately, we have no update on a time frame yet.”
Saratoga Casino Holdings purchased and took over operations of Magnolia Bluffs Casino in October of 2022.
