In honor of the city of Gulfport’s 125th anniversary this weekend, Mississippi Aquarium will kick off festivities with discounted admission for those wishing to celebrate.
From 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, guests will be able to get a jump start on the anniversary gala with $12.50 admission at the aquarium. The discount will only be available at the gate.
After walking through the aquarium, attendees will then be invited to make their way over to Jones Park, where the festivities are officially set to begin.
“Gulfport is more than a city. It’s a community and we are very lucky to be a part of it,” Patrick Pearson, vice president of marketing at Mississippi Aquarium, said. “With our proximity to the official festivities, we wanted to provide an opportunity for families to extend their celebration of Gulfport’s milestone.”
Mississippi Aquarium representatives will attend the community celebration in the park and be involved in the parade before the fireworks show at 8:30 p.m.
