HOUSTON, Miss.- Human bones and remains found by dogs and police are leading authorities to believe they may belong to a man that has been missing since August.
The remains were found in an overgrown area just north of Houston, police said. Willie Harries, 72, was last seen on Aug. 23 in Houston and the discovery of human bones dragged up by dogs Monday led to a more in depth search this week. The remains were recovered Wednesday morning.
Chickasaw County Coroner Andy Harmon told the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal that the clothing and the remains match and are consistent with the clothing and description of Harries at the time he disappeared.
Harmon said evidence is being sent to the Mississippi State Crime Lab for DNA testing.
