JACKSON, Miss. — Mississippi museums are a closer to their fundraising goal after big donations last week. A combined donation of $850,000 is coming from Trustmark Bank and the Butler Snow Law Firm to the Museum of Mississippi History and the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum.
The museums are now just $4 million dollars short of their $16 million private funding goal. Both are under construction near the state capital and hope to be open by 2017, just in time for the state’s bicentennial celebration.
