CHICAGO, IL.- After a warrant had been out for his arrest for nearly 10 months, a Mississippi man was finally arrested for the deadly shooting of a man in Chicago.
Friday, 23-year-old Randon Walker was charged with first-degree murder in the death of 25-year-old Rubin Austin.
Chicago Tribune reported that the fatal shooting occurred in the early morning hours on September 20. When police arrived, they found Austin lying on the sidewalk and he had been shot in the chest and pelvis. He was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead shortly after.
A warrant was issued for Walker and he was eventually arrested in Mississippi on July 20 and extradited to Chicago, police said.
Walker appeared in Chicago’s Central Bond Court this afternoon.
