GULFPORT, Miss.- The city of Gulport has reached a settlement with BP for $4.4 million.
The money is in response to the 2010 oil spill that dumped millions of gallons of crude in the coast and killed 11 rig workers.
Last week, Biloxi settled on a $4.9 million restitution, while Mississippi as a whole will receive over $2 billion.
The money headed to Gulfport is expected to be used on infrastructure.
BP is expected to pay out a total of $18.7 billion to Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.
