JACKSON, Miss.–While most places in Mississippi will see highs top out in the 50s for Friday, it’s going to get warmer for the weekend, and may stay that way for a while.
The showers that have been around for some parts of the state, especially central and souther, were expected to decrease by Friday afternoon.
“We’re looking for pretty chilly conditions today, with clouds and light rain,” said National Weather Service Meteorologist Eric Carpenter. “That’s expected to move out as we go into Saturday. We’re looking at temperatures on the rebound for Saturday afternoon and Sunday into the 60s.”
He said there may be a more active weather pattern next week, with more rain possible and temps getting back down into the 50s.
But, overall, the weather will stay fairly mild for December.
“For mid to late December, it’s really not too bad.”
