Fannie Johnson, the executive director of L.O.V.E.’s Kitchen has won the chance to bake with Rushion McDonald, award-winning baker and Emmy-award-winning TV Producer of the “Steve Harvey” talk show.
Johnson’s kitchen is a non-profit charitable organization that was created with the goal of feeding the hungry in Meridian and Lauderdale County. Johnson serves around 200 “clients” a day at the food kitchen and on March 15, 2017, McDonald will make his to the oven to bake up six of his special desserts.
“I came down here for a young lady in Meridian Mississippi, Fannie Johnson, who won a contest I did on the Steve Harvey talk show called the perfect bake contest where I will come to your home, your kitchen or your business and make six of my desserts from the Perfect Bake App, which you can download because it’s free,” said McDonald.
Fannie chose to share her prize with L.O.V.E.’s Kitchen and the Meridian community so Rushion will make a few extra desserts to be served to her clients before a VIP reception and Open House event.
The six desserts will be:
- Pineapple Upside Cake
- Baked Banana Pudding
- Sweet Potato Pie
- Peach Cobbler
- Raisin Bread Pudding
- Coconut Cake
Through McDonalds app, available on your smart phone, you can order any of the desserts listed. The recipes and ingredients will be shipped for you to make them at home.
The VIP event will begin at 3:00 p.m. and then the public is welcome to come to the Open House at 4:30 p.m.
L.O.V.E.’s kitchen is located at 801 18th Ave. Meridian MS, 39301.
