MERIDIAN, Miss.–A local newspaper carrier for the Meridian Star died earlier in the week after a crash.
It isn’t clear what caused the accident near Philadelphia at the intersection of Highway 16 and 491.
Tommy Ray McDaniel, 58-years-old, was the newspaper carrier inside the vehicle.
“He had been with us five plus years, great service,” said Meridian Star publisher Tim Holder.
Holder said he thinks it could have been a medical issue with McDaniel that caused the wreck but the police are still investigating it and aren’t sure what happened.
“We never really had a service complaint from any of the people he serviced for the paper,” said Holder when speak on the great job McDaniel had done.
McDaniel had a wife and three sons and Holder said he was very active in the community.
