The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency is continuing to assess the damage levied by Sunday and Monday’s severe weather in the state.
According to the National Weather Service, three tornadoes touched down on Monday. One EF-2 twister affected Lamar and Marion counties, while an EF-1 tornado and EF-0 tornado touched down in Marion County.

As of Tuesday, MEMA officials say damage has been reported from three counties – Jackson, Lamar, and Marion – with 24 homes and 2 farms suffering damage from the storms. The following reports came from each county:
- Jackson – 5 homes
- Lamar – 15 homes, 2 farms
- Marion – 4 homes
Those that have not reported damage are encouraged to do so as soon as possible here, along with taking photos of the damage and filing an insurance claim.
