JACKSON, Miss.- With Wednesday looking to bring a visit from old man winter, it’s clear that most Mississippians aren’t exactly experienced in the art of snow preparation. With this in mind, Mississippi Emergency Management Agency director Robert Latham takes the time to explain what to do in the case of wintery weather.
“If you don’t need to get out… and you have ice on the roads, just don’t get on the road. I think one of the things that happened in the last event… for some reason, there were significantly less accidents around the state, and I think its because people stayed off the roads.”
The director also suggests that citizens remain aware of their surroundings and pay close attention to what’s happening with the weather. Central and North Mississippi are expected to receive two to three inches of snow.
