Meet The Trash Bag Gang: MBN Says These Guys Knocked Over a Pharmacy for 6,500 Doses

ACKERMAN, Miss.–The Trash Bag Gang is in jail in Choctaw County. The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and the MBI said the three burglarized a pharmacy in Ackerman and had over 6,500 doses of prescription drugs when they were caught.

MBI Spokesman Warren Strain said the three are 31-year-old Marcus Taylor, 31-year-old Maurice Taylor(twins from Jackson) and 22-year-old Leabrian Myers (of Gluckstadt).

Their address for now is the Choctaw County lockup on a $1 million bond.

Strain said the three were arrested Dec. 7.

When they were picked up, agents found 30 grams of marijuana and six pot plants, plus a THC-laced popsicle (Tetrahydrocannabinol).

Marshall Fisher, head of the MBN, says prescription drugs are the number one drug problem in the state.

“The number one drug abuse problem in Mississippi is no longer marijuana or cocaine,” said Fisher. “The biggest threat is pharmaceutical drug abuse and as a direct result organized groups are focusing on pharmacy burglaries, which have become a major problem not only in Mississippi but in many other states, as well.”

He said the arrests are the end of a six-month investigation into several pharmacy burglaries.
