A Mississippi Department of Transportation employee is all tangled up in what police say is literal wire fraud.
Cody J. Ware, of Gulfport, was arrested Wednesday in Harrison County for alleged embezzlement that included taking $22,000 worth of wire without permission. According to law enforcement, they responded to the MDOT office on Highway 49 in Saucier when they were informed of the possible theft.
A subsequent investigation resulted in a warrant being issued for Ware’s arrest. He was taken into custody at his residence and charged with embezzlement.
Ware was booked at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center and is being held in lieu of a $15,000 bond set by Judge Brandon Ladner.
