JACKSON, Miss.- The Mississippi Department of Corrections has changed their visitors policy for inmates to immediate family only.
The new requirements include parents, grandparents, siblings, spouse, children and step children. This could also be a person documented as a parent of surrogate before the inmate was 12 years old.
Individuals no longer allowed to visit include, but are not limited to, girlfriends, boyfriends, fiances, cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, in-laws, pastors, friends, or anyone that is not an immediate family member.
MDOC is also limiting visitors to 10 per inmate at a time.
