Authorities in McComb are looking for a suspect following a mass shooting over the weekend in which five people were injured.

According to the McComb Police Department, the gunfire from “high-powered weapons” occurred on Saturday around 6:45 p.m. at the intersection of Presley Blvd. and Bendat St. just after a funeral repast.

Multiple males in attendance at the repast are reported to have been walking to a nearby convenience store before the gunshots rang out.

McComb Police Chief Juan Cloy released during a press conference on Tuesday that investigators believe that it was a “targeted and gang-involved incident.”

“We are going to prosecute these individuals to the fullest extent of the law. We are going to hunt you down, we are going to find you, and we are going to put you in prison like you deserve,” Cloy stated.

Two of the five injured in the shooting were juveniles ages 15 and 17. The three other victims are 19, 22, and 23 years old.

One of the victims received a gunshot wound to the head and is currently in intensive care at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

The names of the victims have not been released at this time.

Officers are still working to determine the motive for the shooting.
