WASHINGTON– President Barack Obama has released his list of 79 commutations of federal drug sentences, including the sentence of one McComb man.
Darrius Lewis of McComb was sentenced for conspiracy to distribute cocaine base, to serve approximately 22 years with three years post release supervision.
President Obama commuted the sentence to a term of just over 18 years.
With commutation, the President has the authority to shorten a prison sentence.
According to the White House, President Obama has commuted more than 1,000 sentences–more than any other president.
