At Tuesday night’s meeting of the board of Mayor and Selectmen of McComb, Ward Three Selectman Albert Eubanks made a motion to remove the Confederate Memorial from in front of city hall, a monument erected in 1916.
The motion was tabled until the next meeting on September 12, but not before everyone spoke on the issue…which indicated that a vote would end in a 3-3 tie, with Mayor Whitney Rawlings voting to remove the memorial.
