Last month, Mississippi Bureau of Investigation Master Sergeant Brad Edmondson was on his way to Leflore County. As he crossed the Carroll County line on MS-35, he noticed heavy smoke on the roadway.
Once he got to the other side of the smoke, he saw a house on fire with Heather Williams standing in the driveway. He stopped, and Ms. Williams told him that her father was still inside.
MSGT Edmondson entered the house and helped Heather’s father, Mark Williams, to safety – saving him from the flames.
Both MSGT Edmondson and Mr. Williams sustained injury from smoke inhalation, but they are expected to make a full recovery.
The Mississippi Department of Public Safety stated on their Facebook page that they’re proud of their Troopers who save lives in so many different ways.
MSGT Edmondson said he’s just glad to have been in the right place at the right time, and glad he could help and things went the right way.
