Public Service Commissioner for the state of Mississippi’s southern district Dane Maxwell called in to The JT Show today to provide an update on the broadband grant applications for electric cooperatives that are currently being reviewed by the PCS.
Whichever of co-ops are awarded the grant will receive the portion in local funds by the end of this week. Once the federal funds are incorporated, over a billion dollars will eventually go towards broadband expansion, according to Maxwell.
