MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The man that helped some of your kids teachers chat on the test they had to pass to get that job is going to jail.
Clarence Mumford will serve 7 years in prison. He was sentenced today in federal court in Memphis, where he worked for years as an educator.
The 59-year-old admitted to running a scheme for 15 years where teachers in Mississippi, Tennessee and Arkansas paid him to have others take the Praxis test for them. Some paid as much as $3,000.
