A Marshall Academy student has passed away following a tragic car crash.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office reports that the fatal accident took place Friday morning just after 9:30 on Duck Hill Road near Highway 7. The teen driver, identified as Cutter Crass, died in the single-vehicle wreck.
Crass was a junior baseball player at the north Mississippi private school and was killed while on his way to practice. Marshall Academy administrators have called on the public to keep the teenager’s family and friends in their prayers at this time.
“Marshall Academy family, it is time to draw close and do what we do best. Let’s hold up Cutter’s people. Let’s hold up each other. And let’s surround those who grieve in the shelter of our prayers and support in these uncertain days to come,” a portion of a Facebook post from the school reads. “We know that Cutter rests in the embrace of our Lord. May light perpetual shine upon him.”
The crash remains under investigation.
