A manhunt is underway for an inmate who escaped from a Mississippi prison on Christmas Eve.
According to the Mississippi Department of Corrections, convicted murderer Drew Johnson broke out of the South Mississippi Correctional Institution in Leakesville on Tuesday afternoon.
Johnson, 33, is described as a white male, standing at six feet tall, and weighing 200 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes. He also has tattoos all around his neck and head area.
Johnson was sentenced to life in prison in February 2022 for a murder in Rankin County.
Anyone with information regarding Johnson’s whereabouts is asked to contact law enforcement immediately.
