A detainee who escaped police custody in Harrison County over the weekend has been captured by authorities.

29-year-old Joseph Rigell Rayborn was caught Monday at 7:59 a.m. inside an abandoned home near the intersection of Highway 67 and East Wortham Road in Saucier, according to Sheriff Matt Haley.

Rayborn was initially arrested Sunday around 1:30 p.m. following a domestic dispute in the 21000 block of Success Road. Sheriff’s deputies quickly found out that Rayborn also had an outstanding felony warrant for violating probation on a previous burglary charge.

After Rayborn was put in handcuffs, he managed to escape with one of the deputies getting injured in the pursuit. He was spotted Sunday night around 8:30 p.m. on Saucier Fairly Road with law enforcement able to track him down and take him back into custody within hours.
