GULFPORT, Miss.- Police are looking into eyewitness reports of a man entering the Walmart Supercenter on highway 49 in Gulfport with a shotgun. Gulfport Police responded to a report of a man with a gun at the Walmart around 8:00 Sunday night.
Witnesses say that they saw the man loading and pumping a shotgun.
The Walmart was evacuated before police arrived to the scene, and employees showed the police the surveillance video that suggested the man had left before they got there.
Police chief Leonard Papania told WLOX-TV that they found the employees in a safe room after doing a full sweep of the store.
It appears no shots were fired, no one was injured, and no charges will be filed against the man.
