GULFPORT, Miss. – Police have charged a homeless man with the kidnapping and sexually assault of a woman found naked in a Lowe’s parking lot Monday.
The victim said Andrew Cruse, Jr., 54, forcibly kept her in his tent for two days where he beat her with a hammer and raped her.
She eventually untied her feet and escaped. She was spotted Monday running out of the woods into the Lowe’s parking lot, her hands still tied behind her back. Some shoppers helped cut through layers of duct-tape and called police. The woman was taken to the hospital where she has gotten treatment for cuts and bruises.
