RANKIN COUNTY, Miss.- Rankin County Sheriff’s deputies and U.S. Marshall’s were searching for a man related to a shooting. He was found in Jackson around 3:30.
They were using K-9’s Friday to look for him, the search began around 10:30 a.m. after a man was shot on Ed Spann Road. The man police were searching for was Michael Blockman, 24 of Jackson, and he apparently shot a man walking down the road from the passenger side of a car.
Investigators told WAPT that the shooter ran into the woods and that’s where the search began.
Deputies think the shooting may have had something to do with a woman or stemmed from a fight between the two men.
Police do not believe that residents are in any serious danger.
