The man who jumped off an overpass in Brandon on Wednesday is being treated for his injuries.
According to a press release from the Brandon Police Department, officers responded just after 1 p.m. to the overpass at Crossgates Exit 54. Dispatch had received a call about a man jumping off, although it was unclear if it was believed to be a suicide attempt or not.
The 42-year-old man was alert and speaking with responders at the scene but was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. At this time, the man’s name has not been released.
